A couple of years ago, I started a conversation on Twitter about favorite Thanksgiving side dishes and out of the woodwork came an assortment of delicious recipes. Over the past two years I have made most of these recipes more than once. They are that good.
As you think about Thanksgiving, why not give some of these fabulous recipes a try! (Including the corn pudding above) I promise they go well beyond green bean casserole and are even more satisfying.
Another ingredient I love, especially at Thanksgiving, is oysters. Ever since I can remember, oyster bisque, made by my mom at the very last moment, has been our traditional Thanksgiving starter. One year, though, I made this rich and buttery oyster pie and it was decadent deliciousness.
If you like green beans but aren't a fan of green bean casseroles (raises hand), this is my recipe for a beautiful, colorful and fresh green bean side dish. You can add pancetta or persimmons or both!
